Amazon.com Product Description From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife more than a century ago comes the Swiss Army money clip, a handy multi-tool for folks who don't like to carry wallets. Measuring 3 inches long, the money clip is stylishly cased in a red, black, or silver housing with the familiar Victorinox logo on one side. On the other side, however, sits a handy money clip, which is designed to keep your Benjamins within easy reach. The rest of the clip is much like the familiar Swiss Army multi-tool, with such tools as a large blade, scissors, and a nail file with a nail cleaner. As with all Victorinox items, the money clip is made to exacting standards, with dozens of individual parts and hundreds of steps going into its construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials--including stainless steel for the tools and rustproof aluminum for the separators--to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Finally, the money clip is engravable, making it an ideal gift for executives or groomsmen. Made in Switzerland, the clip carries a lifetime warranty. About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Great small pocket knife. July 30, 2005 D. McDermand (Billings, MT USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I used to lose pocket knives regularly because they would slip out of my pocket. I bought this knife because it is very compact and slim but has a useable length blade. Additionally, it has the exact tools I use regularly -- scissors and a nail file. I do not use the clip for money but instead use it to attach the knife to the watch pocket in denim jeans or a regular pocket in other pants. I have NEVER lost it and I have come to Amazon to purchase another one for an extra so I don't have to switch the knife around so much when I change into different pants. I have other knives with more tools but this is the knife I carry at ALL times.
Swiss Army Money Clip December 8, 2007 Steven L. Druley (Minneapolis) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is my second one, having lost my first one after 10 years of use. These are indispensable little tools that offer the benefit of also securly holding my currency. The scissors, nail file and knife are all very handy and I use them all regularly. I can't understand why anyone who uses a money clip would not love one of these.
A handy and versatile money clip July 6, 2006 Edward Beck (Murfreesboro,TN USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is an exact replacement for my old Swiss Army money clip which I have had for over fifteen years. I was very pleased to see that Amazon.com offered this item.
The money clip is functional, but the real versatility is the built-in Swiss Army knife. Definitely easier than keeping up with a money clip and small pocket knife. The small knife, fingernail file and scissors have come in handy on countless occasions. I recently used the scissors to cut the price tag off of a pair of sunglasses. Those tags on sunglasses do not come off easily! If you like using a money clip, or want to try one, try this one with the built-in knife, scissors and fingernail file.
The Swiss Army knife of money clips! October 18, 2007 Marc Lisenby (Atlanta, GA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
What's not to like? Nice looking money clip meets Swiss Army knife! The scissors are one of the most useful items I have ever carried around. The knife blade is sharp and sturdy and it has a fingernail file that actually works! I lost one and could not wait to get another one. One word of caution: Don't forget it's in your pocket when you head to the airport for a flight. Scissors, knife blade and nail file all in one easy to confiscate package! You can't go wrong with this great clip.
The most subtle pocket knife you could ask for January 15, 2009 G. Kline (Hoboken, NJ) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When you pull out your money clip with folded bills and see the matte silver finish metal, you think "ok, it's a money clip". But it's definitely much more. Small utility knife, scissors, and nail file, all at your convenience. This money clip knife is thin enough to pass for a typical money clip--you won't notice any additional weight or bulk. The clip works superbly with a very firm grip, enough that you can even clip it to a pocket along with some bills. And naturally, the implements are all top notch Swiss/Victorinox quality.
The outer metal casing is a little soft, so if you drop it on pavement, it will take some nicks and scratches (the blades themselves are tempered stainless steel--very tough). But generally, if you're careful with it, it'll go years without accumulating much abuse. I have been carrying these for the past 10 years and lost one once. I've got 2 more in reserve, because they're inexpensive and so useful. I've also given them as gifts, usually much appreciated. I recommend the silver over the red, as small scratches hardly show on the silver (but the red will expose silver colored scratches).
Some people just don't get the idea of a money clip. They prefer to have a nice thick fat wallet stuck in their rear pocket, forcing an uneven sitting that may eventually cause spinal problems. I now have a light wallet (a leather "sleeve" if you will, just for credit cards, license, insurance card, business cards, and assorted small papers) and the money clip to hold all of my bills in the front pocket. MUCH better. And this money clip is a great choice for it.
As for pricing, there is a large variance. I've seen them as cheap as $20 shipped (FleaBay) and nearly $50 without shipping. The price on Amazon is very good (as of this writing, $22 with free shipping). If you're looking for one of these and don't care if it has been used, you can find used ones on-line for about half the cost. In these tough economic times, saving 50% means a lot to more people!
