Great idea!!! February 17, 2006 K. Hasard (New York, NY) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this product, but when I got it I liked it a lot. I can see where it might burn if left pushed all the way on the handle, but I just simply slide it back towards the end of the handle, leave it there, and when I need to move or lift the pan, just slide it back down all the way on. It works like a good quality pot holder, and is a bit non-skid so it tends to grip pretty good. It fits in the hand well, and works as designed. Convenient to use with cast iron since the heat travels up the handles well, and you always need a pot holder or rag to keep from burning your hands. This is a well made product that works as intended. I'm glad I bought it.
Good mitt February 27, 2007 Nesnayu 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Fits perfectly over my cast iron skillet handles, and I can keep it on even while cooking. One word of caution, however, this thing is worthless when wet. If it gets wet it will conduct heat and burn you. (But, really, this is just a matter of physics and any cloth-based mitt will behave the same way).
hand saver September 13, 2009 Cat mommy (New England, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this thing! I used to have one years ago. It's really handy to slip on the handle of a pot or pan when you don't have time to use a mitt. It stays in place, unlike a square potholder. Very handy item! I highly reccommend it.
Perfect for Pro-Logic pans October 2, 2007 Mitchel Lidowsky (New Hyde Park, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you have the Pro-Logic pans with the flat curved handle, this will fit perfectly. It works well on the regular handles too, but has a looser fit. It does what it's supposed to do. I've left it on the handle for the entire cooking process, at medium heat, and it still permits you to lift the pan by the handle.
Just what we needed September 3, 2009 A. Popovich (Lemont, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitts are just what we were looking for to insulate our cast iron skillet handles. We leave ours by the stove for easy and convenient pan handling.
Just make sure you don't leave them on your skillets while you're cooking; they're definitely not meant to take the kind of heat from a gas flame below.
