I'm pleasantly surprised at how small this interval timer actually is while at the same time having a large enough display to be easily read.
The beeping alarm is very loud. If you read some of the reviews of some sport watches (quite expensive ones) that have interval timers, most of them mention the alarm not being loud enough.
My favorite feature the Gymboss has though is the vibrating function. I run while listening to my MP3 so I set the alarm to vibrate instead of beep, and that is something you will never find in a sport watch that costs the $19.95 I paid for my Gymboss.
If you're shopping for an interval timer, this is definitely the one to get.

I am a personal trainer, who loves this inexpensive tool. it was recommended to me by another trainer. It is so much better than a stop watch. i can program it before a client comes in according to what thier workout for the day is and use it throughout their session. I just started Tabata tecniques with a coule of my athletes and it has made my job so much easier. Love it for my own workout as well, especially when my time for my own workout is limited. It really helps motviate me.

I just got my Gymboss and began using it in my muay thai work outs. It is perfect for doing rounds. Great that you can choose just about any duration you want for the round and rest period. It is also very audible and smaller than I expected. The only thing that would recommend is to add the ability to set a third time in it. That way you could essentially have a 30 second or 10 second warning before the end of a round. As it is, you can set two times - one for the round and one for the rest. I also plan to use this for Tabata interval training.

When you're working with sparring bags to build cardio, the last thing you want to do keep an eye on the clock. GymBoss is like having a coach in the corner with a finger on the bell, cueing your efforts to exert, and telling you when to cool down. This little timer does on an individual scale what the big $150 digital models do for a studio full of combatants in training. I'm well-pleased with the way it has made interval exertion a flexible part of my training.

This timer is just what I have been looking for! I use it for both boxing workouts, as well as cardio on an elliptical machine. This timer is easily adjustable for different "round" lengths and can do a specific number of rounds, or go indefinitely. This is a must for any interval training and is plenty loud to be heard over music, or can be set to vibrate.
